GRAPHIC.DESIGN The Hairy Elephant – O'Fallon and Chesterfield, MO A salon geared specifically for children Scenario: The salon was going to be raising their rates and needed to portray the high quality and specialty of their services to clients. Several new pieces were needed, including a simple tri-fold brochure featuring party services and basic hair cut, styling and nail service rates. Elements developed: Brochure Development Advertising Signage A whimsical, fun design style was implemented in the brochure. The standard red color was kept from past branding efforts, but adding new shapes and backgrounds adds definition and has more interactivity than simple red text throughout. The happy children caricatures are meant to reflect the style of the elephant logo but lend a little more realism. All parents receiving this brochure need to feel reassured that their child will have a wonderful experience at The Hairy Elephant, and that it is worth a slightly higher premium when compared to lesser quality or salons that are not child specific.
